Fondamenta degli Incurabili is a location project created in the framework of Dark Matter Games, an in situ event for the opening of the Venice Biennale 2017 in collaboration with Sale Docks, workspacebrussels and the Belgian Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale.
The project works with the cliché of the Venetian street painter and invited several of them to spread around the city to re-visit and re-paint the archetypical horizon of the city. The project follows the footsteps of the Russian nobel prize winner Joseph Brodsky’s book Fondamenta degli Incurabili, where nostalgic snowscapes appear as a link to his hometown Saint-Petersburg, which for Brodsky was his Venice of the North.
